Millet Rice

Amma tried a fusion of millets, dal and rice and we just loved it. From then on this is a regular feature. We try as much as possible to have this instead of the plain steamed rice! Very easy to make and tastes delicious along with any Sambar | Rasam, Kootu | Vathakohzumbu, Dal | Kadhi.

Millet Rice

Ingredients:
3/4 cup Rice
1/4 cup Bajra
1/4 cup Jowar
1/4 cup Split Green Moong Dal
1 tblsp Black eyed Lobia
3 3/4 cups Water

Method:

  • Measure out all the dry ingredients into a vessel. Wash them thoroughly and drain them.
  • Pressure cook them  for about 8 whistles.
  • After the pressure is released, the Millet rice is ready to be served.
  • The water proportion is:
    • For rice -- 1:3 (water)
    • For millets -- 1:2 (water)
Hope you will love this as much as we do.

Till then...Eat healthy...Stay blessed...
