Veg Sweet French Toast - An easy Breakfast Recipe!

During school days, every summer vacation used to be loads of fun - the numerous outdoor activities which all the kids in our locality used to play along with exotic fun  foods that our respective moms used to make for us!

One such breakfast which I cherish is Veg Sweet French Toast! Fruit custard with jelly used to be something which Amma used to make along with Aam Panna, Lemonade, Rasna Juice concentrates and other savouries during Summer Holidays! Sometimes the custard powder would remain and that's how Amma cooked up this dish. Then I used to call it Custard Bread and only after starting to blog realized that this is infact a recipe that is called as Egg-less French Toast!

Whatever be the name, this one is definitely a sure shot way to ensure kiddos have breakfast along with fruits, honey and a glass of milk! Since had some leftover Bread slices and custard powder, wanted to try out my favourite! Been ages since I had them! Still loving it!

METHOD
  • In a mixing bowl, add custard powder, sugar and cinnamon powder. Add milk and mix to make a lump free batter. I add little sugar as I prefer it with just a hint of sweetness. You can add sugar to taste.
  • Place a a non stick pan on low flame and add little butter.
  • Dip a bread slice into the batter on both sides and place it gently on the hot tava.
  • After about a minute, gently turn the bread to the next side. Toast both sides till crisp.
  • Serve hot with honey | jam | fresh fruits | Butter and a glass of milk.
I normally drizzle a bit of honey and dust it with cinnamon powder and relish it with seasonal fruits and wash it off with a glass of Soya Milk.

We have used:
1. Brown & Polson Vanilla Custard Powder
2. Moshe's Multigrain Bread
