Vishu Sadya

14th April 2015 is being celebrated as Vishu! Amma has been planning a wonderful Vishu Sadya and was super excited right from the menu to procuring the perfect ingredients to the arrangement of the traditional Vishukkani.

This year Amma wanted to have a complete traditional Vishu Sadya. As the years go by, we are all very enthusiastic to preapre all the dishes, but ultimately when it comes to eating the entire spread, we do not do justice as only part of the entire spread we are able to relish. The remainder becomes the course for the dinner or the next day!

Today's Vishu Sadya Naivedhyam spread comprised of:

Chakkapradamam a Payasam|Kheer made with Jackfruit and using coconut milk for sweet. Mambhaza Kootan, Aviyal, Kalan, Carrot Cabbage Peas Thoran, Tomato Rasam, Inji Pachadi to go with Steamed Rice. As accompaniments where season's best Alphonso Mango, Nendran Banana, Narukku Manga Urgai, Nendran Chips, Karela Chips, Papadams and Fryums. To wash all this down was the refreshing Buttermilk!

A wonderful lunch with loved ones, that too after the joy of preparing the same with love and affection really made this Vishu very special!
