Sitaphal Ice Cream - A fruit flavoured frozen Indian delight!

With the Rain clouds doing a pretty god job by hiding themselves...we need to seek many chilled recipes to do away with the heat despite it supposed to be Rainy Season in Mumbai!!! Phew...today is really hot and all I can think of is scooping into some chilled super yum Sitaphal Ice Cream that I had kept to set yesterday night.

Till I dig into my bowl of chilled delight, let me share this super awesome, easy to make recipe with all of YOU!!

Sitaphal Ice Cream

INGREDIENTS

1 cup Sitaphal | Sugar Apple Pulp
1 cup Milk Powder
1 cup Milk, lukewarm
1/2 cup Powdered Sugar
1 cup Fresh Malai | Cream | approx 200 ml

Sitaphal Ice Cream

METHOD
  • In a vessel combine Milk Powder with luke warm Milk. Mix well to ensure no lumps are formed.
  • Cook this mixture for about 5 minutes so that the raw smell of Milk Powder disappears. Keep aside to cool a bit.
  • In a blender combine Sitaphal Pulp, powdered Sugar, cooled milk mixture and fresh cream to a smooth consistency.
  • Pour the mixture into an airtight plastic container and deep freeze for atleast 8 to 10 hours.
  • Once set, scoop the delicious Sitaphal Ice cream and serve chilled.
Amma Appa loved this yummy Sitaphal Ice Cream. Appa wanted a second helping, but Amma was the good angel who convinced "Same time, Next day".

Note:

a. We added a little less of powdered sugar say just a bit more than 1/4 cup as we wanted the sweetness of Sitaphal itself. 1/2 cup is best for all those you relish sweet icecream.
b. The same method can be used to prepare Mango icecream - Mango Pulp, Chikoo Icecream - Chikoo Pulp, Black Jamun Icecream - Black Jamun Pulp.

We have used:
1. Nestle Everyday Dairy Whitener
