Pomegranate Lemonade - A toast to the PINK of Health!

Pomegranate is a powerhouse of antioxidants and a host of nutritive value. Including it in our diet is very beneficial. This is the season of Pomegranates in Mumbai and we get lovely fresh ones where in the seeds within are bright red! The very sight is so beautiful!

I love to add Pomegranate in our day to day meals be it as a garnish in salads or Curd Rice or Bhel Puri or even Poha! we prefer to relish the fruit to get as much health benefit as possible. The seeds are supposed to contain a lot of dietary supplements which is very beneficial to our health. Juicing eliminates that and so Amma Appa on rare occasions agree for the same!

I love Pomegranate juice and even while eating the fruit I like to take a couple of them hold them in within my mouth with my fingers and Splash!! The burst of fresh juice is wonderful as the sensation from varied taste buds of the tongue send taste profile signals to my brain! Do try..you will love it!

Pomegranate Lemonade with the twist of the bubbling soda is an immediate refresher! Using my Philips HR1858 extracting pomegranate juice is so easy!

Pomegranate Lemonade

INGREDIENTS

4 Fresh Pomegranate
1 Lemon
1 tblsp Sugar | Optional
1 cup Water, warm | approx 200 ml
1/2 cup Soda | approx 100 ml
Ice Cubes, as required

METHOD
  • Dissolve sugar in warm water. Let this cool and then refrigerate. This must be super cool.
  • Extract juice from Pomegranate and Lemon.
  • In a mixing canister add Pomegranate and Lemon juice, sugar water. Stir well.
  • Pour into glasses half the way.
  • Add Ice Cubes as required and give it a gentle sir.
  • Pour Soda carefully to get the lovely fizz.
  • Serve immediately the refreshing and vibrant Pomegranate Lemonade.
Since these Pomegranates were very sweet naturally, I did not add any Sugar. I used chilled Soda instead of adding Ice Cubes as Amma Appa do not prefer the Ice Cubes!
