Black Raisin Juice

Black raisins are very good laxative. Amma has given all of us this when we were toddlers. This takes care of the toddlers digestive system ensuring smooth motion.


Ingredients:
10 Black Raiains
1/2 cup Water
1/4 tsp Glucose 

Method:

  • Wash the black raisins well.
  • Boil the washed raisins in 1/2 cup of water.
  • The raisins will puff up and that is an indication to switch off the gas.
  • Let it come to room temperature and then squeeze the raisins to extract the juice. Retain the boiled water along with the squeezed juice.
  • Strain the raisin and mix the glucose well.
  • This has to be consumed immediately.
I recall Amma making this for my nephew and giving him daily till he was about a year and a half. I have tasted it and it is yum! 

The moment toddlers start walking about, are more active, this can be discontinued.
