HOW TO MAKE URAD DAL FLOUR AT HOME!

Urad Dal Flour is very easy to make. Many interesting recipes from savouries and sweets can be made with this. This flour can be made in advance and stored in air tight container.

Normally during Gokulashtami and Diwali, Amma will stock up this Homemade Urad Dal Flour to make naivedhyam varieties.

INGREDIENTS

1 cup Urad Dal

METHOD
  • Dry roast urad dal in a kadhai on low flame. Stir continuously so that urad dal does not get burnt.
  • As soon as a nice aromatic smell wafts from the roasted urad dal, transfer roasted urad dal to a plate to cool a bit.
  • Grind to a fine smooth powder.
  • Sieve the ground flour and keep aside the coarse bits that remain on the sieve.
  • Store the fine urad dal flour in an airtight container.
We can use this roasted Urad Dal Flour to make Uppu Seedai, Kai Murrukku, Urad Dal Ladoo, Thattai and many more wonderful recipes!
