Tomato Onion Chutney is a great combination with Uttappams! It definitely goes well with Idli and Dosas too...but we love this chutney with Uttappams!

1/2 tsp Fried Gram Dal | Chutney Dal
1/4 tsp Imli | Tamarind, thick extract
1/2 tsp Oil
To taste Salt

METHOD
  • In a kadhai, heat the oil.
  • Add red chillies and onion. Saute onions for 2 minutes.
  • Add chopped tomatoes and imli extract. Saute for 2-3 minutes.
  • Switch off gas and let the sauted onions-tomatoes cool.
  • Grind sauted onions-tomatoes to a fine paste along with salt. Do not add any water.

We had this awesome chutney with Carrot Onion Uttappam, Mini Multi-Veg Uttappams and Rangeela Uttappam
